USMT GUI – Migrate Users without SCCM

Feb 28, 2014 Thomas Ehler SCCM tools 2

USMTGUI

A comprehensive GUI by Thomas Ehler gives access to the power of User State Migration Tools.

USMT breaks the boundaries in WET – Windows Easy Transfer – by handling WET version issues, enabling offline migration off disks from dead systems etc.

    Hi

    This is a great utility.
It does not however help with the fact that it is very difficult to figure out precisely what is migrated by USMT..

    Hi Daniel
Thank you for feedback on USMT..
It is very true; USMT is NOT a suitable tool for backup, since it’s hard to control what exactly is migrated by USMT. It’s not possible to have whole folders migrated, only the filetypes selected etc.

But for the overall task of getting your users settings, data, favourites mail accounts and application settings from one PC to another it is the only option..
